Description
With a short visit to Kópavogstjörn, you'll be able to observe a handful of the wintering bird species of Iceland. Whooper Swan, Greylag Goose, Mallard are abundant, Eurasian Wigeon, Eurasian Teal, Goosander are common, and the lake is one of the most reliable locations in Iceland for seeing the vagrant American Wigeon, Eurasian Teal (American), and Grey Wagtail.

Kópavogstjörn is easiest accessible by car, but bike trails are close by, and so are bus stops. Press P on the map for directions. The walking route indicated on the map is about 0,7 km one way.
