Description
Just west of Vatera, the headland of Agios Fokas is located, and this is a good spot to look for migrants and seabirds. Find a nice spot with some view to the sky and scan for migrating herons, egrets, storks and raptors. Above the sea, flocks of Yelkouan Shearwater can be spotted, and with a bit of luck you can find Scopoli's Shearwater within these flocks too.
The wooded areas on the headland are great for several breeding species, like Middle Spotted Woodpecker, Sombre Tit and Sardinian Warbler.
