Description
The Wurzacher Ried is the largest intact and contiguous raised bog in Central Europe and also one of the largest nature reserves in Baden-Württemberg. The area is home to special species that depend on bogland and also provides habitat for specific migratory birds. Breeding birds include European Honey-buzzard, Spotted Crake, Common Crane, Corn Crake and Grey-headed Woodpecker. Other birds that can be observed are Eurasian Hobby, Great Grey Shrike, Red-backed Shrike, European Stonechat, Water Rail, Little Grebe, White Stork, Eurasian Curlew, Great Reed Warbler and Red Kite.

Access
The Wurzacher Ried is located directly north of the town of Bad Wurzach. There are parking spaces all around the reserve. The best place to park is near Bad Wurzach. Press a P on the map for directions. From the parking you can explore the aera on foot or by bike.
