This is an area where soil was extracted for dyke construction. Now there are shallow ponds where many birds can be seen.
In the Wilkenstorfer Teiche you can see many species of duck and waders. But also impressive birds as White-tailed Eagle, Common Crane and Western Marsh Harrier. There is an observation tower from where you have good views over the Wilkenstorfer Teiche.
The street on which the observation tower is located is closed for cars. Click on the P in the map to get locations to a parking spot nearby. From the parking spot it is approx. 300 m on foot to the bird tower.
