Description

The quarry ponds of Wernauer Baggerseen provide valuable habitat for wetland-bound bird species, but the surrounding bushes also attract many other birds. So far, more than 200 bird species have been recorded, which regularly or occasionally come here as breeding birds or to rest and forage during migration or in winter. Among the birds you can observe are Goosander, Blackcap, Garden Warbler, Common Nightingale, Common Kingfisher, Red-backed Shrike and others. The waters can unfortunately only be observed from a distance.
