The 55-hectare Schlosspark Charlottenburg is a nice place for relaxed urban birding in the city of Berlin.
Schlosspark Charlottenburg is the oldest park preserved in Berlin and Postdam. In the freely accessible park you will find ponds and canals and the first baroque garden in Germany. The Charlottenburg Palace Park is a nice place for some urban birding. Mostly common birds like Common Starling, European Robin, Common Wood Pigeon, Eurasian Blue Tit and Great Tit. But also birds like Eurasian Goshawk, Sparrowhawk, Common Kingfisher, Middle Spotted Woodpecker, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Eurasian Green Woodpecker, Mandarin Duck, Icterine Warbler, Common Nightingale, Spotted Flycatcher and Common Redstart.
Easy to reach from Berlin with public transport. By U-bahn: Sophie-Charlotte-Platz, Richard-Wagner Platz. By Bus: line 309 or M45.
