Description
The pond of Rixdorfer Teich is popular with typical urban birds like Long-tailed Tit, European Robin and Eurasian Jay, as well as waterfowl like Mute Swan, Mandarin Duck and Eurasian Moorhen.
Some of the usual Great Tit are very used to humans and will even take seeds from the hand. There is a family of Common Buzzard that live in the park, and one or two are usually hanging around in the trees near the pond. In summer many Barn Swallow circle over the pond, and in autumn and winter there are always lots of European Goldfinch in the alders next to the pond.
