Description
The river Elz near the town of Köndringen was restored in 2017 as a compensation site for railway construction. The newly restored river gives home species like Common Kingfisher and Little Ringed Plover. Also Goosander and Grey Heron can be regularly observed here. During migration season Green Sandpiper or Common Snipe can be observed along the river or the wet meadows. Even rarer species like Little Egret or Black-crowned Night Heron have already been observed here.
