Protected and unmanaged forest with old oaks containing several scarce breeding birds of the region.
Neuenburger Urwald is an unmanaged forest reserve containing very old trees (mainly oaks). Several breeding birds related to this habitat can be seen here in good numbers in spring, namely Middle Spotted Woodpecker, Wood Warbler and Pied Flycatcher.
There is a parking lot at the western edge of the forest. Several paths are signposted and the reserve can easily be explored by foot.
