Description
The Leipheimer Moos is a beautiful moorland with wide areas for Western Marsh Harrier as well as the rare Corn Crake, Western Yellow Wagtail, Grasshopper Warbler and migratory Meadow Pipit. In the reed areas north of the border ditch Bluethroat likes to sing, in the cattle pastures European Stonechat and along the boardwalk circuit (the boardwalk itself is unfortunately closed) Eurasian Wryneck, Common Nightingale, Common Snipe, Northern Lapwing, Greater Whitethroat, Common Cuckoo, Common Pheasant and Black Woodpecker can be heard or seen.
Also worth a visit in autumn/winter when there are Hen Harrier, Great Grey Shrike, Short-eared Owl, Greater White-fronted Goose and Common Crane.

Access
The Leipheimer Moos is located in north of the town of Günzburg. The area is perfect to explore by bike and on foot. You can park your car south of the area at the Herdweg parking area in Leipheim. Click on the P in the map for directions to the parking. The Herdweg area provides convenient access to the moor and its hiking trails.
