Hochwasserrückhaltebecken (HRB) Ellinghausen is a flood retention basin that consists of several basin sections. Among the birds you can encounter here are Northern Lapwing, Common Shelduck, Ruddy Shelduck, Little Ringed Plover, Common Snipe, Common Kingfisher and Water Rail. In autumn sometimes rarities are observed in the area.
HRB Ellinghausen is located north of the city of Dortmund, close to Ellinghausen. Parking is possible in the Ähre. Click on the P in the map for directions.
