Description
The hilly landscape of Grüne Hölle is right next to the Luxembourg-Germany border and contains a varied forest, limestone cliffs and narrow gorges. It provides a lovely woodland birding walk, where one can find Black Woodpecker, Eurasian Green Woodpecker, Coal Tit and Common Redstart among many others.

Access
Grüne Hölle is located just northwest of the village of Bollendorf. By car: One can park at the two spots marked P on the map. Press a P on the map for directions. Public Transport: The town of Bollendorf has a bus stop on the Luxembourgish side of the Sure river (star on the map) where buses from both the German and Luxembourg directions stop. It is then a 1.3 km, 25min walk to the start of the forest trails.
The indicated walking route is approximately 3.7 kilometers long. You can make this route longer if you want by walking further into the forest towards the west. You can also follow a downloadable audio tour for the forest, see the link below.
