Description
Grube Cox has mixed forest with lakes and ponds. Gadwall, Common Pochard and Great Cormorant spend the winter on the lakes. Mistle Thrush can be seen in the poplars on the edges of the lake. In the forest, with a bit of luck, there are Lesser Spotted Woodpecker , Middle Spotted Woodpecker, Hawfinch and Eurasian Bullfinch.
In winter Redwing and Brambling can also be seen. At night you can see Eurasian Woodcock, hear Tawny Owl call and very occasionally Eagle Owl. During migration I saw Osprey hunt, but it is rare to observe them here. From a herpetological point of view, it is also worth a visit, as you can observe sand lizards, grass snakes and common midwife toad here.
