Description
The typical species of a city can be seen at the Decksteiner Weiher in summer. On the lake Canada Goose, Egyptian Goose, Great Crested Grebe and Mallard can be seen. Around the lake you can observe Eurasian Green Woodpecker, European Goldfinch, Middle Spotted Woodpecker and much more. In winter, however, more rare duck species such as Tufted Duck, Common Pochard, Gadwall and with a bit of luck also Ferruginous Duck can be found.

Decksteiner Weiher is easy to reach by bike from Cologne (Köln). You can also get there easily by car. Click on a P in the map for directions to a parking. A circular walk around the lake is about 5 km.
