A lake with some bushes and trees around. Especially for ducks an other water birds this is a little hotspot.
At Bärenbrücker Teiche you can see especially in winter many ducks like Northern Shoveler, Eurasian Wigeon, Mallard, Northern Pintail, Common Teal, Red-crested Pochard, Ferruginous Duck, Tufted Duck and Greater Scaup. And you can also find several species of geese like Greylag Goose, Greater White-fronted Goose, Tundra Bean Goose and at the narrow fields you can see Tundra Bean Goose, Red-breasted Goose and Barnacle Goose. In winter you can also find some Whooper Swan, Bewick's Swan and all year around many Mute Swan.
In spring and autumn many limicoles visit Bärenbrücker Teiche. Waders such as Avocet, Grey Plover, Northern Lapwing, Common Ringed Plover, Little Ringed Plover, Bar-tailed Godwit, Red Knot, Ruff, Curlew Sandpiper, Temminck's Stint, Dunlin, Little Stint and Common Snipe.
Bärenbrücker Teiche is located 15 km northeast of the city of Cottbus and immediately north of the village of Bärenbrück. From Dorfstraße you can drive with car or bike to a little road between Unterteich and Streckteich. At the middle of the little road is a little spot were you can parc your car. Click on the P in the map for directions to the parking spot. From there another little path leads to the Unterteich where most birds can be observed.
