Description

Today, rows of trees line the former airfield runway and an adjacent meadow invites you to relax and observe nature. In order to be able to see how quickly nature is reclaiming areas, the old chunks of concrete were piled up into piles of rubble of different sizes and left to plants and animals. The piles of rubble and high meadows invite bush breeders in particular to stay. Between the runway and the taxiway, a water surface that was wet from backwater was created. Today this pond and the surrounding wetlands are home and resting place for many amphibians and birds.

European Stonechat, Penduline Tit. Und ein Froschkonzert!

The last few 100 m to the vantage point are no longer accessible. But it makes sense and is exciting to drift along the reed belt on the former runway. Here you can hear and see Reed Warbler , Water Rail , Eurasian Moorhen , Reed Bunting , possibly European Stonechat , Penduline Tit. And a frog concert!
