Mlashe Tba (Salty sea), also called Kochebi Lake is a shallow lake located near Dedoplitzskaro and is a good place for watching water birds and waders.

Description

Kochebi Lake is a remnant of the Caspian Sea located on 800 meters above sea level. It is a shallow lake of brackish water, surrounded by meadows, fields and a small forest. More than 150 bird species have been observed in the area. Birds you can observe include Ruddy Shelduck, Black-winged Stilt, Little Ringed Plover, Common Sandpiper, Green Sandpiper, Wood Sandpiper, Ruff, Black-necked Grebe, European Bee-eater, European Roller, Red-backed Shrike, Calandra Lark, Black-headed Bunting, Corn Bunting, Rock Sparrow, Long-legged Buzzard, Western Marsh Harrier, Hen Harrier and Montagu's Harrier.

Access

Kochebi Lake is located about 4 km east of Dedoplitzskaro and is best accessed by car or bicycle. There is an unpaved road in the west and north of the lake. Press P on the map for directions.
