Good birding in some secondary habitat, including mangroves, along the Ambochou Ntsini tidal creek that borders National Park Akanda.
Cap Caravene is a great area to spend a morning of birding. Good birds can be found in the secondary forests and mangroves. Walk the roads, checking for species, such a Gray-throated Barbet, tinkerbarbets, orioles, bee-eaters, hornbills, sunbirds and other passerines.
To reach Cap Caravene drive north from Libreville. Park carefully on the streets. Click on the P in the map for directions or coordinates. There is a lodge/restaurant at the end of the road - but don't count on it being open.
