On the cliffs around the village of Rougon you can observe different kinds of vultures all year round.
In the surroundings of the village of Rougon, you will be able to see in the sky or on the cliffs of the Gorges du Verdon Griffon Vulture (introduced in the Verdon over the period 1999 – 2004); Eurasian Black Vulture (introduction from 2005); Egyptian Vulture that nest in the Verdon since 2007 and with a little luck, the Bearded Vulture that has been in the Mercantour since 1993. Of course many other birds can be seen in this area. See the birdlist below.

Park in the town of Rougon and take the path at the end of the village. You can also see the vultures during hikes in the Gorges du Verdon, on the GR4 trail or by walking the ridge road in the commune of Palud sur Verdon.

Pour observer ces vautours, munissez-vous d’une paire de jumelle, traversez le village de Rougon, le belvédère proche du mur d’abeille situé face à la cage d’acclimatation des vautours vous attend. Vous pourrez également les voir lors de vos randonnées dans les gorges du Verdon, sur le sentier GR4 ou en parcourant la route des crêtes sur la commune de la Palud sur Verdon.
To get the best view of the vultures, make as little noise as possible, wear neutral clothing and don't move too much.
