Description
Marais de la Palle is a small wetland at the foot of the Bauges mountain range. There is a short flat circular path (about 2 km) around a marshy area, with a raised wooden walkway on the eastern side and a grassy path alongside a stream on the southern edge. The stream has been partially dammed by beavers, creating a typical wetland habitat for birds and other wildlife. It is easy to spot Common Kingfisher, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Wren, Eurasian Nuthatch, and Grey Wagtail.
A short walk to the south, there is a nice walk along the La Bialle river, where there are White-throated Dipper. In the Grésy lake there are some Great Cormorant.
