The river Ognon, the lakes of Bonnal and the surrounding forest offer many different habitats to explore. Many birds can be seen in this area.
Along the river Ognon and the forest and lakes of Bonnal many bird species can be observed. Especially European Bee-eater, Red Kite, European Serin, Black Kite and Common Kingfisher. In summer it is also possible to see big groups of White Stork en Common Buzzard. The best way to see birds at the river L'Ognon is by canoe, you can see many groups of European Bee-eater breeding. Other birds you can see in the area are Middle Spotted Woodpecker, Eurasian Green Woodpecker and European Honey-buzzard.
