A large pond with large reef area, surrounded by meadows and woodland, deciduous trees. The place is a little nature reserve with trail and hide.
Etang David is a place filled with bush birds, especially in springtime: Blackcap, Common Nightingale, European Turtle Dove are easy to find, as well as Common Kingfisher and Red-crested Pochard on the pond. Woodpeckers can be found on deciduous trees: Great Spotted Woodpecker, Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, Eurasian Green Woodpecker, Black Woodpecker.
The place is also a nesting area for herons: Black-crowned Night Heron, Grey Heron, Cattle Egret can be spotted from the pond side.
Some raptors: Black Kite, Eurasian Hobby and with chance Red Kite and Short-toed Snake Eagle are easy to spot hunting around.
Unusual birds like Penduline Tit are possible during a walk across this picturesque little place.
From St Just St Rambert Follow the direction "Chambles". After the lights, turn right to the signposted road "Etang David", unitl the; car park. The entrance of the site is across the raos along the canal
