An ancient quarry restored as a bird reserve alongside the Loire river. You'll find small lakes, rivers et wetlands forest's birds.
In the heart of the Plaine du Forez on the banks of the Loire lies the Ecopôle du Forez. A great place for birdwatching. Old gravel pits converted into ponds and alluvial forest with trails and hides. There are 5 hides and also a natural reserve exhibition. Guided tours are available. Birds you can see here are Golden Oriole, Common Kingfisher, Little Egret, Black Kite, House Martin, Sand Martin, Common Teal, Red-crested Pochard, Northern Shoveler and Common Pochard.
By car : a car park is available, parking ticket is € 3. By train : Feurs' railway station is the closest.
