The King's Bridge reservoir is located in a forest. The site is a Natura 2000 zone and classified as sensitive natural area.
Barrage du Pont du Roi is especially favorable for migrating birds and more particularly from August to September when the water level of the lake is at its lowest and areas of mudflats appear. You can then observe Osprey, Common Snipe, Common Greenshank or Black Stork. In the forest you can observe Wood Warbler and Middle Spotted Woodpecker. It is also interesting to walk downstream from the dam along the stream to look for White-throated Dipper.

You can access Barrage du Pont du Roi through the village of Tintry and the southern end of the lake through the village of Saint-Emiland. Click a P on the map to get directions to a parking spot.
