Dam on the Rhine. Mostly used by waterbirds in winter. Rareties like Pygmy Cormorant can turn up here during migration.
The Rhine is used as wintering area by waterbirds such as Common Pochard, Tufted Duck, and a few gulls. Peregrine Falcon is often seen hunting or perched on the buildings in the industrial area nearby. Ferruginous Duck and Goosander can also be found. A few scarcities have been seen here, mostly in winter but also in migration period such as Pygmy Cormorant, Long-tailed Duck or Velvet Scoter.
From the A35, use the Saint-Louis exit and head towards Weil am Rhein in Germany. Follow the signs for the restaurant La Piste du Rhin and park there.
