Description
Siipyy lintutorni (or Sideby fågeltorn) is a 15 meters high bird observation tower on the Gulf of Bothnia near the town of Sideby. On the east side of the tower is a forest, on the west side is the Gulf of Bothnia. You can of course see forest birds, but the tower is especially good for sea birds and migratory birds. Every year several rare bird species are observed from the tower. Bird that are seen more regularly include Whooper Swan, Goosander, Red-breasted Merganser, Velvet Scoter Common Scoter, Long-tailed Duck, Red-necked Grebe, Arctic Skua, Black Guillemot, Razorbill, Red-throated Diver, Black-throated Diver, Caspian Tern, Arctic Tern and White-tailed Eagle.

Siipyy lintutorni is located 3 km southwest of the town of Sideby. Adjacent to the tower there is a barbecue area and a parking. Click on the P in the map for directions to the parking.
