A hiil in central Helsinki where many small birds rest during spring and autumn.
Observatorieberget (Observatory Hill) is a hill in central Helsinki. The hill is largely parkland, but there are also some buildings, such as the Helsinki Observatory from 1834. The hill has lots of vegetation, trees and bushes that attract passerines. In autumn you can e.g. see Red-breasted Flycatcher, Common Redstart, Wood Warbler, Lesser Whitethroat, Garden Warbler, Blackcap, Spotted Flycatcher, Yellow-browed Warbler and Pallas's Leaf Warbler.
Observatorieberget can be easily reached with public transport from Helsinki. The area is best experienced on foot.
