The place in Finland to see and hear Red-flanked Bluetail. A nice forest path from a large parking makes it easy to access the area. Nice old forest!

Description

The Konttainen Bird Path in Kuusamo crosses old forest and has several trails from the the parking place. Famous for Red-flanked Bluetail but also Western Capercaillie, Black Grouse and other forest species along the main road in the area. Grouse often lek near or on the road in the morning.

Public parking well marked with maps and information from Kuusamo Birdclub. Nicely made paths, and a bird feeder at the start of the trails. Click on the P in the map for directions.
