Description
Sehel Island is a small island in the middle of the river Nile. The site is interesting for migratory birds. So the best time to visit is winter. Birds you can observe include Asian Green Bee-eater, Nile Valley Sunbird, Egyptian Goose, Spur-winged Lapwing, Great Cormorant, Striated Heron, Pied Kingfisher and White-throated Kingfisher.
Desert Wheatear, Black Stork and Little Bittern have been observed during autumn migration.

Access
Sehel Island is located in the river Nile between the town of Aswan and the Aswan Dam. The only access to the island is by boat. The place where boats cross the Nile to the island is marked with a star.
