Description
The beach meadows of Nivå Strandeng are an important resting place for migratory and wintering birds all year round. In the spring, resting waders such as Eurasian Oystercatcher , Dunlin , Common Sandpiper , Bar-tailed Godwit can be seen, and also birds of prey migrating and many Common Shelduck. In autumn, flocks of Brent Goose , Eurasian Wigeon and Northern Lapwing roost in the area. Great Crested Grebe , Great Cormorant, Whooper Swan , Canada Goose, Northern Pintail, Eurasian Wigeon, Tufted Duck and Common Goldeneye visit the area in winter.
All year round you can see flocks of Great Cormorant , European Herring Gull , Great Black-backed Gull. Birds of prey are also seen and Eurasian Kestrel , Common Buzzard and Sparrowhawk nest in the area.

Access
Nivå Strandeng is located east of the town of Nivå along the bay of Nivå (Nivåbugten). You can take the train to Nivå. From the train station it is about a 1,5 km walk to Nivå Strandeng. If you are by car or bike, you can park along the road. Press P on the map for directions to the parking spot. From there it is a short walk to the observation tower.
