Description
The former sand pit Pískovna Dobříň is an interesting site for birdwatching. Sand is not mined here now. The lake complex is interesting especially during migration in spring and autumn. It is also an important regional wintering ground. Birds that can be spotted include Greylag Goose, Red-crested Pochard, Common Pochard, Common Tern, Little Ringed Plover, Black-headed Gull, Caspian Gull, Common Nightingale, Great Reed Warbler, Golden Oriole, Western Marsh Harrier and Sand Martin. In winter you can observe Common Goldeneye and Goosander.

Pískovna Dobříň is located directly east of the village of Dobříň. You can park on the embankment or walk from Dobříň train station (1).
