This old monastery built in 1317 is a lovely green oasis on the river Krupa. A good spot to look for Sombre Tit.
The Krupa Monastery is one of the oldest Orthodox monasteries in Croatia. It has a lovely setting along the Krupa river. The river, grasslands, agricultural fields en wooded parts are attractive to birds. The vegetation along the river is a good place to search for Sombre Tit. Other birds that you can encounter in the area are Corn Bunting, Blackcap, Garden Warbler, Spotted Flycatcher, Golden Oriole, Linnet and Subalpine Warbler.
The Krupa Monastery is located 70 km inland from Zadar. You can park right in front of the monastery. Click on the P in the map for directions. From the parking you can explore the area on foot along the roads.
