The Provincial Domain is a nature and recreational zone to the northwest from Leuven. There's a protected natural area rich in biodiversity.

Description

The big pond is home to different types of ducks, Eurasian CootGrey HeronGreat CormorantLittle GrebeMute Swan and many more, which can be seen from the bird watching hide (see map).

Also the Common Kingfisher, different woodpeckers, Short-toed Treecreeper andEurasian Nuthatch reside in the area.

In winter time the Water Rail can be found in the protected natural area called 'Lovenarenbroek'.
