The area around the Wibau gravel ponds near Marchtrenk is one of the ornithological hotspots in central Upper Austria. Expected breeding bird species include Eurasian Curlew, Northern Lapwing, Grey Partridge, Red-backed Shrike and Blackcap. With a little luck, one or the other rare, migratory species can also be observed.
