Description

Vardakar (Horom) Reservoir lies in the open highlands of Shirak, surrounded by grasslands and low hills. The mix of open water, muddy shores, and steppe habitats attracts a variety of birds, including Ruddy Shelduck, Great White Pelican, White-winged Snowfinch and various gulls and terns. Raptors like Montagu's Harrier and Long-legged Buzzard can also be seen hunting nearby. The peaceful setting, lack of disturbance, and wide views make it a rewarding spot for birders seeking waterbirds and steppe species in a quiet, scenic landscape.
