Description
The Lastiver Canyon is a green trail that runs through fields on the bank of a deep canyon bordered with deciduous forest. There are a lot of rock cliffs along the trail where Griffon Vulture are breeding. You can observe common passerine species in the fields such as European Stonechat, Common Rosefinch and Red-backed Shrike.
In the surrounding forest tits and birds of prey like Common Buzzard live.
At the begining of Lastiver trail there is a good hotel: Apaga resort where you can stay. There is also high probability to encounter a Tawny Owl in the evening during spring and summer.

Access
The start of Lastiver trail is located at Apaga resort and Yell Extreme park. You can get there by car or by taxi. Then follow the "Lastiver" signs along the trail. WARNING! The trail is slippery when wet, and in some places goes very close to the cliff.
Before visit please check the weather forecast (the closest location is Yenokavan or Ijevan) because in case of low clouds you walk in the mist with zero visibillity.
Acces to Apaga resort and Yell park is free of charge. There is parking and cafe with open balkony and amazing view and a House Martin colony. Press P on the map for directions.
The trail is 3 km one way, so 6 km out and back. Instead hiking by trail, you can also just spend few hours at cafe balcony and find up to 15-20 bird species in summer.
