Beach park with long fishing pier over the Atlantic Ocean.
Little Island Park is a 122-acre beach park in Sandbridge, just north of Back Bay Wildlife Refuge. The 400-foot fishing pier at Little Island Park provides a great place to set up a birding scope and watch for seabirds. Among the birds you can observe are Harlequin Duck, Surf Scoter, Black Scoter, Razorbill, Red-throated Diver, Great Northern Diver, Red-breasted Merganser, Killdeer, Willet, Sanderling and Arctic Skua.
Little Island Park is located in Sandbridge, just north of Back Bay Wildlife Refuge. There is a big parking lot. Click on the P in the map for directions or coordinates. Between Memorial Day and end of October there is a parking fee. Restroom facility near the parking lot. It is a very short walk to the pier.
