Description

Cylburn Arboretum is a city park with arboretum and gardens in Baltimore. The arboretum contains an extensive collection of trees and woody shrubs. Mature hardwood trees representative of the Piedmont make up the bulk of the forested areas, though there are some conifers. The plantings alongside the trails contain an outstanding diversity of wildflowers. The gardens at Cylburn also offer a small man-made bog and open meadow areas.

Cylburn Arboretum has a variety of migrant and resident birds and is a great location to observe migrating birds, especially thrushes and warblers. You can see 6 species of woodpeckers (Red-headed, Red-bellied, Downy, Hairy, Pileated, Northern Flicker), Cedar Waxwing, Great Horned Owls, Orchard and Baltimore Orioles, Brown-headed Cowbird, Scarlet Tanager and many more, see the birdlist below.
