Description

RSPB The Oa is home to many important breeding and wintering birds, including Клушиця, Беркут, Лунь польовий, Сапсан and occasionally Деркач лучний. During the winter months the reserve is very important for wintering Гуска білолоба and in particular, Чечітка гірська. With The Oa reserve hosting likely the largest wintering flock in the UK. Беркут is present throughout the year, soaring above the cliffs and moors.

By bus: The nearest bus stop is in Port Ellen. By road: Approximately 6 miles (9.6 km) south-west of Port Ellen, Isle of Islay. Car park is situated on unnamed road, on the way to the American Monument PA42 7AU, Isle of Islay. Click on the P in the map for directions. The circular route indicated on the map is about 3 km.
