A secluded woodland accessed by a recently resurfaced pathway.
Parrots Drumble derives it’s unusual name from a combination of its previous owners, the Parrot family, and a local term for a stream running through a wooded valley, drumble. It is a quiet woodland with a circular route. Plenty of birds to be seen all year round, and recently deer have been spotted. Among the birds you can encounter are Eurasian Blue Tit, Long-tailed Tit, Willow Tit, Wren, Eurasian Jay, Willow Warbler, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, Eurasian Treecreeper and Eurasian Nuthatch.
Small layby at the entrance. 4 to 5 cars situated behind Affinity, Talke Pits. Click on the P in the map for directions. Walk down a recently resurfaced hardcore path, gently sloping down to the entrance. The woodland is mostly flat, but does have a few slopes. The circular walk indicated on the map is about 3 km (1,8 mile).
