Description

Around the Fish Quay in Hartlepool gulls hang around, especially on the roof. Often joined in winter by grönlanninlokki and isolokki. In the harbour entrance haahka, kaakkuri, amerikanjääkuikka and etelänkiisla can often be seen. Sea watching by the lighthouse can produce a large variety of gulls, ducks, auks, terns, skua’s and shearwaters at various times of the year. The rocks along side the promenade are home to merisirri, meriharakka and karikukko that winter in Hartlepool bay.
