Description

Broom Lakes are former gravel pits that have become a nice habitat with pools and wet meadows that are interesting for many water birds and waders. When you walk around Broom Lakes you can - depending on the season - see good numbers of duck, including Common Shelduck, Common Teal, Eurasian Wigeon, Tufted Duck, Gadwall and Mallard. Both Great Crested Grebe and Little Grebe are often seen. Other birds that can be seen here include Common Tern, Little Ringed Plover, Common Ringed Plover, Eurasian Oystercatcher, Northern Lapwing, Common Redshank, Goosander, Reed Bunting, Yellowhammer, Red Kite, Common Buzzard and Eurasian Kestrel.
