Big and deep lake surrounded by olive gardens and maquies. There is no abundance of birds probably because the lake is so deep and has few reed beds.
Lake İznik is big, it is approximately 32 kilometers in length and 10 kilometers in width. No big groups of birds but the lake is nice to visit when you are in the area. You can visit several spots around the lake and the surrounding is pretty nice to see. Birds you can encounter on the lake include Great Crested Grebe, Little Grebe, Northern Shoveler, Ferruginous Duck, Common Pochard, Tufted Duck and Pygmy Cormorant.
Lake İznik is located north of the city of Bursa, near the town of İznik. You can visit Lake İznik by car. Car driving is the easiest way to see many locations around this big lake. It is easy to drive all around the lake, but keep in mind that the lake is very large and a round trip is about 90 km.
