A hill at the south end of Lomma bay with some mosit meadows below
Lets be honest from the start, Spillepengen has one major flaw: the smell. Located at an abandoned and covered rubbish dump and neighbor to the new and active rubbish dump the odeur can be quite harsh, especially at SW wind. Though it has to be said that after half an hour the nose gets fairly accustomed.
With that said, Spillepengen is a nice area, especially in spring when the Common Eider migrates south. A major part of the Common Eider instead of following the coastline crosses Skåne and fly over land, quite some of these do this at Lomma bay. A fair part of them hesitate about going over land and therefore the flocks often fly a couple of rounds in the bay before taking the leap. Standing at the north side at Spillepengen gives a very good view (morning and PM) over the migration. Sometimes King Eider is seen as well.
Breeders are Avocet , Little Tern various ducks and tringa waders.
The park and bushy areas are a good spot for Ring Ouzel late april and early may.
If going by bus take 133 to station Arlöv Strandvägen, step of and walk through the tunnel to Spillepengen, follow the road W.
If going by car, turn W a Västkustvägen, park and follow the trail.
