Description

Norsholmen is a peninsula on the small island of Fårö between Tällevika and Ajkesvik north of Gotland. Norsholmen is known for its good birding, mainly during spring and autumn migration. During the spring, large numbers of seabirds and waders pass through. At the end of May, for example, large flocks of Barnacle Goose can be seen stopping on their way to their Arctic breeding grounds. The birdlife consists of waders such as Avocet, Ruddy Turnstone, Ruff and Dunlin and terns such as Arctic Tern and Little Tern. At the end of July/August, flocks of Sandwich Tern dwell around the islet. White-tailed Eagle is often seen.
