Wetland for the treatment of waste water from Oxelösund. The area has several different ponds with varying amounts of vegetation. But also an interesting coast.
Brannäs Våtmark is an area that contains several different ponds with varying amounts of vegetation enclosed by varying forest biotopes. In winter, there are still quite a few birds to see in the parts that don't freeze over. Su çulluğu, Çitkuşu, Kızılgerdan and Su kılavuzu are virtually there all year round. In the forest areas there are Küçük ağaçkakan and serçe baykuşu and the other common woodpecker species. In the spring, birds that nest in the ponds arrive: Yeşilbaş, Kuğu, Çamurcun, Boz ördek and Su kılavuzu and in the reeds Saz Kamışçını, Bataklık kirazkuşu and Kındıra kamışçını. During the autumn, flocks of ducks rest in the area.
Observations of the following rarities have been made over the years: Ala doğan, Dağ kuyruksallayanı, Halkalı Sinekkapan, Çulhakuşu, uzun kuyruklu kumru, Bataklık Kamışçını and Büyük ak balýkçýl.
From the spacious parking lot, excellent trails lead around the area and out to the bird tower with a view of the Örsbaken sea fjord. Click on the P in the map to get directions to the parking. The premises are partially adapted for the disabled, mainly the hiking trail through the pond area.
