Description
The mouth of the small Hondo stream in the Guadiana river forms an inlet of the Orellana reservoir, in which the Guadiana Hydrographic Confederation carried out an intervention to favor the presence of waterfowl. The construction of a dam provides protection and certain stability in the water level. Among the birds you can encounter are (Ευρωπαϊκός) Γερανός, Μαύρος Πελαργός, Καλαμοκανάς, Καλαμόκιρκος, (Ευρασιατικό) Φερεντίνι, (Ευρασιατική) Χουλιαρόπαπια, Καπακλής, Σκουφοβουτηχτάρι, Iberian Magpie, Thekla's Lark, Σκορταλλός, Κοκκινοκεφαλάς and Τσιφτάς.

Or your follow the following directions: In the village of Casas de Don Pedro you start from the public school "Virgen de los Remedios", through the calleja de las Pozancas. You come to a crossroads with the "colada de las Eras", where you turn right until you find a path in good condition. You then turn left, entering a meadow, and head south towards the Orellana reservoir. Arriving at the Canal de las Dehesas, you cross it over a bridge, making a detour of about 150 m and turning to the left. Crossing the bridge and located on the other side of the canal, you take a descending path with a gate. You follow this path until you reach another gate, after crossing you arrive at the bird observatory, which is located near the artificial lagoon of Arroyo Hondo. You surround the Arroyo Hondo lagoon until you find an ascending alley to the left, which takes you back to the canal. You cross the canal over the bridge and on the other side you take an ascending alley in poor condition, which leads you to a crossroads with the Eras wash. Shortly after crossing you will be able to see the town of Casas de Don Pedro, from which you set off.

Espagnol: Partimos desde el colegio público “Virgen de los Remedios”, por la calleja de las Pozancas. Llegamos a un cruce con la “colada de las Eras”, donde giraremos a la derecha hasta encontrarnos con un camino reformado en buenas condiciones. Giramos entonces a la izquierda, adentrándonos en una dehesa, y tomamos dirección sur hacia el embalse de Orellana. Llegados al canal de las Dehesas, lo cruzamos por un puente, dando un rodeo de unos 150 m y girando a la izquierda. Cruzado el puente y situados al otro lado del canal, tomamos un camino descendente con una puerta. Seguimos este camino hasta llegar a otra puerta, tras cruzar la cual llegamos al observatorio de aves, que se encuentra cerca de la laguna artificial de Arroyo Hondo. Rodeamos la laguna de Arroyo Hondo hasta encontrarnos una calleja ascendente a la izquierda, que nos lleva de nuevo al canal. Cruzamos el canal por el puente y ya en el otro lado tomamos una calleja ascendente en mal estado, que nos lleva a un cruce con la colada de las Eras. Al poco de cruzar ya podremos ver el pueblo de Casas de Don Pedro, del que partimos. Avanzamos hasta llegar al colegio, finalizando así nuestra ruta.
