Description

The area of Llanos de Calera y Chozas is good for steppe birds. In my case, I walk the road between Calera y Chozas and Puente del Arzobispo at dawn. I leave the car at the lane entrances. From there you can scan the area with the telescope. You can find Great Bustard and Little Bustard. Along with these birds Pin-tailed Sandgrouse, Stone-curlew and Calandra Lark. Various raptors and other more frequent birds. See the birdlist below.

You have to differentiate between seeing birds and photographing them. For the first, you can walk the public roads with the telescope and take back your memories. For the second, there is a private company specialized in hides and photography of bustards in Calera y Chozas.
