Description

Isla Del Soto is a traffic-free recreational area of 14 hectares. Trees and shaded walkways harbour Golden Oriole, Black Redstart, Cirl Bunting, Corn Bunting, Rose-ringed Parakeet, Sardinian Warbler, Eurasian Siskin, Eurasian Hoopoe, Eurasian Wryneck, Red-rumped Swallow, Spotless Starling, Spanish Sparrow, Melodious Warbler and European Bee-eater. At the eastern end, the smaller islets, boggy areas and reedbeds may contain Common Kingfisher, Reed Warbler, Cetti's Warbler, Zitting Cisticola, Penduline Tit, Black-crowned Night Heron, Cattle Egret, Great Egret, Little Bittern, Western Marsh Harrier, Peregrine Falcon, Merlin and Griffon Vulture.

Espagnol: La Isla del Soto es un paraje fluvial situado en el cauce del río Tormes. Se encuentra a 5 km al este de la ciudad de Salamanca. Un rincón natural de 14 hectáreas que ha sido testigo de la evolución del paisaje de la ribera. Un gran “pulmón verde” donde se puede pasear, realizar deporte, montar en bicicleta, observar la fauna y flora.

The area is north of Santa Maria Del Tormes, a suburb 5 km east of the city of Salamanca. Buses are frequent and parking areas indicated on the map. Click on a P in the map to get directions.
