Volcano that is a tourist attraction but also offers a nice landscape and almost tame Fuerteventura Stonechat.
The Calderon Hondo volcano is in first line a tourist attraction with tame Barbary ground squirrel. Therefore, Fuerteventura Stonechat are also very tame and are the ornithological main attraction of this site. However, the landscape is also very beautiful but you should be there early in the morning before the tourist rush hour and before it becomes hot. There is also the chance of other wildlife such as Egyptian Vulture or Barbary Falcon but, however there are better places on Fuerteventura for these species.
Best use the parking space at Las Lajares and take the tourist track up the vulcano. Click on the P in the map to get directions.
